HVC has started shipping the Pan Caliente de HVC 10th Anniversary Limited Edition 2026. It carries something the company has never put in a cigar. There's Peruvian tobacco in the filler. Pan Caliente turned ten this year, HVC marked it with a single size called the Gloriosos.
It's a 6⅞ x 54 at $12.40 a cigar, sold in boxes of 25. Production stopped at 500 boxes. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano 2000 over a Nicaraguan binder, and the filler mixes Nicaraguan leaf with Peruvian pelo de oro. It's rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos HVC and reached stores August 12, 2026.

Ten years is a real anniversary for a cigar line. Here's what HVC changed to mark it.
THE BLEND
The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano 2000, a Cuban-seed hybrid. Ecuador's cloud cover does the work a shade tent does elsewhere. The leaf comes off thinner and more even.
Underneath is a Nicaraguan binder. The binder holds the filler bunch together before the wrapper goes on, and it does more for burn and draw than it gets credit for.
The filler is where the news is, it's Nicaraguan tobacco plus Peruvian pelo de oro. That leaf has never appeared in an HVC cigar.
THE PERUVIAN LEAF
Pelo de oro translates as golden hair, which describes its color. Growers call it a difficult crop. That's a decent part of why you don't see it in many blends.
Peru doesn't turn up on many bands either, at least not that I've come across. So this is a new origin going into a ten year old line. That's a bigger change than a new size would be.
HVC says the addition brings a different profile while keeping the identity Pan Caliente has had since it started. What that works out to in the hand, I can't tell you, we haven't smoked it.
THE SIZE AND THE RUN
There's one vitola, the Gloriosos, at 6⅞ x 54. That's a long toro, just under seven inches. The 54 is the ring gauge, the diameter measured in 64ths of an inch.
Boxes hold 25 cigars at $12.40 each. The run stopped at 500 boxes, so that's 12,500 cigars for the whole world.
HVC announced this in March 2026. It took until August 12 to reach retailers.

THE BLC TAKE
In my opinion, $12.40 is a fair price for a limited anniversary cigar. I've seen plenty of 10th anniversary releases that cost a good deal more than this one.
This one intrigues me because it brings a new origin with it. The Peruvian leaf is the reason I'm paying attention. Pan Caliente is the line HVC is known for, and putting an untried tobacco into that one instead of a side project says something about how confident they are.
They made 12,500 cigars, which sounds like a lot, but I can tell you they probably won't be on the shelf for long. If you want to try this one, don't sit on the fence.
