A twisted two-leaf torpedo made to mark thirty years of one shop, and only five hundred boxes will ever exist.

The Black Label Trading Co. Dreadnought 30th Anniversary is a 5½ x 54 box-pressed torpedo blended by James Brown at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua. It wears a barber pole wrapper of Pennsylvania Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Habano over an Ecuadorian Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. Built as an Atlantic Cigar Company exclusive to celebrate the retailer's thirtieth year, it shipped on May 29, 2026 at 15 dollars per cigar, limited to 500 boxes of ten.

TL;DR
  • An Atlantic Cigar exclusive that marks the shop's 30 years, not the maker's.
  • Barber pole torpedo, 5½ x 54, box-pressed and full-bodied.
  • Pennsylvania Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, Nicaraguan filler.
  • 15 dollars a cigar, ten to a box, 500 boxes made.
  • Blended by James Brown at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli.

Here is the blend, the shape and the twist, whose anniversary this actually is, and whether it earns a spot in your rotation.

THE BLEND

Start at the top leaf, because this one is doing two jobs at once. The wrapper is a barber pole, which means two different tobaccos wound around the cigar in a spiral.

One strand is Pennsylvania Broadleaf, dark and sweet and a little rugged. The other is Ecuadorian Habano, smoother and brighter, there to lift the whole thing.

Under that wrapper sits an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a core of Nicaraguan filler. That is a full-bodied setup, and it smokes like one.

The maker describes earth, dark sweetness, pepper, and a natural tobacco spice that keeps shifting as you go. You get some grip up front, then the sweetness rolls back in to keep it honest.

This is not a quiet cigar. It comes out swinging early and holds that line to the band.

THE SHAPE AND THE TWIST

The size here is deliberate. A 5½ x 54 box-pressed torpedo is short, wide, and squared off, so it sits in your hand like a tool, not a toothpick.

The box press flattens the sides and tightens the draw a touch. The torpedo head lets you decide how much smoke you pull with a small or a big cut.

Then there is the look. A barber pole is one of the harder presentations to roll clean, because two leaves of different thickness have to spiral evenly the whole length.

"The original Atlantic Cigar Dreadnought exclusive created by Black Label Trading Company was a flavor bomb and a tremendous hit with our customers."
MATT SIEMINSKI, ATLANTIC CIGAR COMPANY

Done right, it reads as craft on sight. You can tell someone slowed down to make this one, and the twist is the proof.

THIRTY YEARS, AND WHOSE

Here is the part worth getting straight. The thirty in the name is not Black Label's anniversary, it belongs to the retailer, Atlantic Cigar Company.

Atlantic has been selling cigars since 1996, and this torpedo is their birthday candle. Black Label just built the cake.

The two have history. The original Dreadnought landed in late 2022 as an Atlantic exclusive, a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro in a San Andres wrapper, and it sold through fast.

That first run earned the encore. When a shop hits a round number, it goes back to the blend that worked, and this anniversary edition is that idea made real.

So you are looking at a familiar name wearing new clothes. Same Dreadnought spirit, a fresh wrapper, and a much smaller number of boxes.

THE BLIND LABEL TAKE

We like a release that knows exactly what it is. This one is a full-bodied torpedo for people who already know they like full-bodied torpedoes.

Five hundred boxes is genuinely small, so this is a find-it-while-you-can situation, not a restock-later plan. If barber poles are your thing, or box-pressed torpedoes are, this checks both.

If you chase soft and creamy, this is not your morning smoke. If you want earth, pepper, and a leaf that fights back a little, pour a strong coffee and settle in.

It is a small run with a big personality, a quiet occasion wrapped in a loud cigar.
